BELLINGHAM, Wash. — This weekend, you’ll have your chance to take a first look at the tiny home village coming to Fairhaven.

Nonprofit HomesNOW is celebrating the completion of their first two tiny homes for the homeless with a ribbon cutting ceremony this Saturday, July 6, at 12:30 PM at their tent encampment on Alabama Street.

HomesNOW says these are the first of 20 homes that will be built for a tiny home encampment for the homeless that will be located near the Post Point Wastewater Treatment Plant, projected to open in August.

This will be the third temporary location for homeless encampments managed by HomesNOW, whose goal is to provide a safe place for homeless people to live while they search for permanent housing.
