BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A coin toss decided two Whatcom County election races yesterday afternoon (wed).
Whatcom County Chief Deputy Auditor Diana Bradrick told KGMI the recounts were certified Wednesday at the 3:00 PM Canvassing Board meeting.
Both the City of Sumas Council Position 3 and Ferndale Council Position 4 were tied after a recount, so board members tossed coins.
Paul Shuey won for Ferndale over Teresa Taylor, and Deborah Morgan beat Todd Daniels for a seat on the Sumas council.
