FERNDALE, Wash. — A woman was seriously injured and traffic was snarled for hours after a crash with a police car on Main Street in Ferndale Thursday morning.
The State Patrol reports an unmarked SUV driven by Officer William Hatchet collided with a car driven by 64-year-old Theresa L. Thompson of Ferndale at the intersection of Main Street and Dick Stone Lane near the Ferndale Walgreens store.
Thompson was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The crash just before noon blocked the intersection for three and a half hours.
Troopers say failure to yield the right-of-way caused the crash but no charges will be filed.
