MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A Mount Vernon man accused of beheading his girlfriend was found competent to stand trial.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports 33-year-old Timothy Paul Hernandez is charged with premeditated murder in the death of 27-year-old Vanessa Cons.
Cons was found dead in the couple’s Mount Vernon home in August 2018.
Court documents say Hernandez told police God “told him” to kill Cons.
His lawyer wanted Hernandez to be evaluated by another psychologist but Hernandez declined.
