BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The local unemployment rate continued on a slight upward trend last month.
The Employment Security Department reports the jobless rate for Whatcom County was at 5% in December, up a bit from 4.6% in November, and 4.2% in October.
This was also identical to the rate we saw in December 2017, but 3,000 more people were working in the county last month than a year ago.
