OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — A federal judge in Yakima has blocked new Trump Administration rules that would ban clinics that receive federal funding for making “abortion referrals.”
The ruling came in a lawsuit filed by Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson and some abortion rights groups.
The lawsuit argues that the new rules would keep many low-income women from getting other health care from the clinics including contraception and cancer screenings.
The administration’s changes would have prohibited clinics that receive federal money from sharing office space with abortion providers.
