BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Leopold Retirement Residence has succeeded in relocating all their former residents before their official closure on March 31st.
Bellingham housing specialist Dan Hammill says the last person living in the downtown retirement residence moved out on Saturday.
All 79 former residents have moved to new homes after the Leopold announced its closure in December citing rising costs and declining occupancy.
Executive Director Peter Frazier says the owners of the historic building will announce future plans for the facility later this spring.
