Ericksen’s vaccination status and the reason for his trip to El Salvador are unknown.

Vaccinated citizens of the U.S. or other countries and Canadians staying here longer than 72 hours will still have to show proof of a negative molecular COVID-19 test to enter Canada.

Police have asked the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Department and Border Patrol to help them with extra patrols in the area.

The service is being offered at 315 Sterling Street in Sedro-Woolley and will be accepting branches, leaves, and anything else considered yard waste every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. from now through December 18th.

Whatcom County has opened a new staffed site for flood debris west of Sumas at 3010 Halverstick Road.

The stations will be at the Advent Christian Church in Sumas (125 Front Street) and at the west end of the shopping center in Everson (200 East Main Street).
